Hi.

I’m Jackie, a stay at home vegan mommy of one amazing little girl. My daughter, Zoey, is three years old, a huge Disney aficionado and Minnie Mouse super fan. She’s also the most amazing little helper in the kitchen that a mother could ask for, and so she is… my Minnie Chef.

Guava Smoothie

Guava Smoothie

Why have I never thought to put guava in a smoothie before? Seriously, why haven’t I?  The past couple of weeks I’ve been working on some guava recipes with the most delicious Guava Marmalade that PG Bakery so generously supplied for me.  PG Bakery is a local South Florida bakery that makes guava preserves and pastries from locally grown and handpicked Florida Guava.  Their strong commitment to quality—avoiding artificial coloring, artificial flavor and preservatives—shines through in flavor of their marmalade.  This guava marmalade is so delicious that it’s been inspiring me to get creative and try using guava in new and exciting ways.  I’ve been trying to incorporate it into savory dishes and baked goods and as I’ve been working the kinks out of those recipes, I see the jar of this incredible guava marmalade staring at me from the fridge, tempting me every time I open it.  So I decided I had to have some, immediately, in a way I knew I could enjoy it without any kinks.  So I made it the star of a smoothie.  And it was so good that I had to share the recipe.  This smoothie is sweet, fruity, refreshing, smooth, creamy and decadent.

And if you’re in the mood, I think it would be very welcoming to a paper umbrella and a splash of rum for an “Adult’s Only” cocktail version… Just sayin’…
