shades of juice
I recently started going to the gym again after a very extended sabbatical. πͺ And earlier this week, I left there feeling like I had totally kicked ass. Just kidding. I totally got my ass kicked. π³ After sitting outside on a tire for a good ten minutes trying to catch my breath and not throw up, I was eventually able to get myself in the car to head over to the grocery store and pick up some post-workout fuel.
Well, as soon as I got there and stepped out of my car, I was feeling just as bad as I was when I stepped off of the stationary bike that nearly did me in... π΄π΅ The soreness was already setting in and I just couldn't shake the queasiness. π· So I decided to pick up some of nature's best medicine in the produce section and go home and make myself some fresh juice. ππ±
I made a little 2 ounce shot of lemon-ginger-turmeric juice to help soothe the soreness and kick the nausea. And I made a nice, refreshing, slightly sweet green juice as a chaser to just help bring me back to life. π
I immediately felt better after drinking theses babies and felt so great for the entire rest of the day that I might just have to make these juices a regular post-gym treat. Or a whenever-i'm-feeling-in-need-of-some-life treat! And, of course, I had to share the recipes with all of you!

//For the Yellow Shot//
- 1-inch piece of turmeric
- 1-inch piece of ginger

//For the Green Juice//
- 2 handfuls of kale
- 1 small handful of mint
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 1 cucumber

Toddler Tip:
The yellow shot will almost definitely be too spicy for your little ones, but the green juice is totally kid friendly!
